Crisis Management: A Public-Private Partnership

David Wade, Industrial Liaison, Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Mgmt.

Expo A3

The Texas Golf Coast has experienced multiple natural and manmade crises in recent years which have epitomized all-hazards crisis management for industry and both local and governmental agencies.  Home to the largest port and petrochemical complex in the nation, the Houston Ship Channel industrial complex is considered by some as the national model for transparency and agency relationships.  Public and private sector partners engage in joint emergency planning and exercises to help ensure coordinated prevention, preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery efforts.  This session will discuss crisis management best practices that institutionalizes  a true Public-Private Partnership.
