ABOUT CYNTHIA
Cynthia is a healthcare safety leader passionate about building safer, smarter clinical environments. She serves as the Hospital and Clinical Safety Program Safety Manager for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, bringing more than 20 years of experience in health and safety and over 30 years in mental health to her work.
With master’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Industrial Engineering, Cynthia blends systems thinking, regulatory expertise, and real-world operational insight. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health in Health Promotion and Health Education at the University of Texas School of Public Health and has participated in over ten Joint Commission certification surveys. A Certified Healthcare Safety Professional and Six Sigma Green Belt, Cynthia also serves as the UTHealth Houston Behavioral Sciences Campus Chair for the Environment of Care and Emergency Management Committee. Known for her practical, people-centered approach, she is a sought-after voice on safety culture, compliance, and emergency preparedness.
