As of December 2018, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) made the January 2017 Risk Management Plan (“RMP”) amendments effective as mandated by the D.C. Circuit Court. This session will cover the RMP rulemaking history, its current status, and potential future. Additionally, it will address interpretation questions related to the implementation of the new requirements. Finally, the speaker will encourage discussion and sharing between participants regarding practical solutions that have been developed to address the changes and differences between the new rule and other process safety management (“PSM”) requirements.
