"Oyster Shell Recycling and Reef Restoration"

ABOUT SHANNON
Shannon joined the Galveston Bay Foundation full-time in August 2020 after working part-time with the Oyster Shell Recycling Program beginning in April 2017. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston in 2010.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Shannon worked as a marine mammal observer for NOAA’s Offshore Platform Removal Program and with RPS aboard seismic vessels. A Galveston Bay native, Shannon has a lifelong passion for coastal conservation and protecting local waterways. In her role, she is proud to support oyster reef restoration and help preserve and enhance Galveston Bay — one oyster shell at a time.

Outside of work, she enjoys quilting, swimming, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
